Gibson TB 150

From Dave Peterson on 2/2/2013 4:21:31 AM

Does anyone know if the 1950's TB 150 came with an archtop tone ring or the brass hoop type?  What is the original equipment?  Also, did the resonator have the double purfling rings or was the resonator plain?  Any idea what serial number 8216-75 means?

Dave,
The TB/RB 150s originally came with the 1/4" brass hoop and no cast tone ring.
The resonator and neck was just like the 250 bowtie mastertones (mahogany sunburst with 2 concentric rings in back) with exception the 150s did not have the white bound peghead nor did they have the mastertone block in the neck.
All I have seen or owned has the small hoop making it an archtop appearance.
I believe your 150 by serial number is 1957-1958.

Hope this Helps
