I'm doing kind of a backwards conversion. I found a 1970 RB 250 neck and I'm building a hot rodded version of a 250. I thought it would be cool if I could find the rest of the parts to put the old banjo back together. So I started looking for more orphaned RB 250 parts. I came across an arm rest and tail piece on ebay. And fond a nother hangout member with a rim tone ring and tension hoop. I was also able to find a nos flange. I have had a hard time tracking down an original resonator, so I ordered a new mahogany one from Jimmy Cox. I also had him fit my tone ring to one of his new maple rims for a two piece flange. And also got the remaining hardware I needed from him. So now I have all the parts. And two rims. I think I am going to use the cox rim and just keep the original type rim with the banjo. Oh, wyatt fawley had a nos 250gibson fretboard too, that was a lucky find. He is installing it on the neck, with new binding and frets. It will be like new. I can't wait to get it all together! If anyone has an original mahogany gibson RB 250 resonator let me know. ChrisPost a Comment | |
