Ok guys when do you start to feel old……..
Brief history about me…. I have been with Montgomery County Fire / Rescue (Maryland) for almost 23 years now. We have a combination system with 34 stations. Our county has a population of almost 1 million people. Last year we ran well over 100,000 calls.
My first shift at the Fire House was Feb 26, 1990. I walked in to meet the Captain… I noticed his serving since pin read 1966. I thought “WOW” this guy has been doing this since I was born. Either he is really old or I am really young. Fast forward 2012, I get a new rookie assigned to me for training, he looks at my serving since pin and he states” You have been doing this longer than I have been alive” Now I feel old, not to mention my oldest son is only 3 years younger. Yikes!!! I guess time slows for no one!!!
Anyone have a similar story?
