California Fenders = Great Banjos

From banjoez on 6/6/2016 8:36:14 AM

Recently re-discovered how amazing the old California Fenders sound. Powerful banjos with a full range of tone. I can't believe they aren't more popular. I guess you guys already know that or you wouldn't be here.

I believe my Fender Artist is every bit as good as any Gibson from the same era and it cost half as much.

I've compared my Artists to quite a few of the newer banjos on the market as well as some vintage ones and there has not been one yet that I can honestly say surpasses the Fenders.

Just bought my old Fender 'Artist' back .. sold it a few years back and missed the great sound it had... It's number #1255, very thin neck, Scruggs Tuners labeled 'ODE'. The label says Fender Musical Instruments, Santa Anna, Calif. I was told that it was a very early model from the 1960's, when I originally bought it from a fellow who said he got it from Mandolin Brothers ...

I will be listing my Fender Artist for sale, but thought I would first make it available to any Fender Group members if interested, please message me.
