Hello All,

I recently attended Wintergrass and someone that was interested in Fender Banjo's was looking at my 70's Artist and mentioned the neck is angled back. ( guessing about 5 degrees from the plane of the head) I hadn't noticed this and was wondering if the banjo was manufactured with the neck angled back or if this is a modification by a previous owner. The angle of the neck allows for a higher bridge while maintaining a lower action.

Are any of you familiar with design / alteration?

	beegee says: 3/11/2017 1:11:48 PM I have the neck off of one of mine and it measures 3º. I would agree that someone has shaved the heel.
	Pat Oloughlin says: 3/12/2017 9:26:12 AM Basically all banjos have the neck angled back. That might be your answer unless you are concerned that you neck has too much or too little angle.

I'm not familar enough with other makers of the time and common angles that were used. I have no concerns about it. Just curious if all/most of the old Fenders were made this way.
	desert rose says: 8/16/2017 9:55:58 PM Late to the conversation, but YES Fenders and virtually ALL banjos have an angle in the neck set, most are n the RANGE of 3 degrees. With Fenders, if ONE was a particular construction detail, ALL will be the same, there was no room for deviation
