It is now a joyous day for him as he has surely been welcomed warmly to Heaven, but a heartbreaking day for those of us who had the honor of knowing him, working with him, loving him, dancing and playing with him. "In the wake of Mr. Armistead’s death, (Marty) Stuart recalled the time he took actor/musician Billy Bob Thornton to “Lester’s Loafin’ Lounge.” “I told Billy Bob to wait until he heard that voice,” Stuart said. “Lester let out that foghorn tenor and just leveled the room.
