I've had about 3 dozen Fairbanks banjos pass through my hands, starting back in 1973. Been a good friend of Jim Bollman, since moving to the Boston area in 1980.

As my screen-name shows: David L. Day is MY banjo-design hero. Some of the FINEST, most opulent Fairbanks banjos were made from about 1895 to 1904 while DLD was the General Manager of the A.C. Fairbanks Co. (After A.C. sold the company to some business associates, and moved to North Tonawanda, NY [my hometown!] to make wooden bicycle rims.)
