I just purchased a RB75 that has been sitting in a case for a while. The ID is 75-9910-48. I broke it down to clean it cause the metal was rough looking. The wood is in great shape with just 1 ding on the resonator, not even buckle rash on resonator. When I took the ring off I had to pry it with my fingers real hard to remove it, should it be this tight? I did slip it back on and it went on a little easier. I could spin it around the rim using both hands. The tone ring has Gibson in block type letters and the number is 5521.

	madfingers says: 9/21/2012 9:47:07 AM If you can rotate it around on the rim I'd say the fit is probably ok and I wouldn't mess with it. I took apart my Vintage Granada this week to verify it was a Crowe ring and at long last finally got the tone ring off. It was extremely tight, and had a bit of a sticky substance on the contact surface as well. I had to hand lathe the rim quite a bit to get the proper ring-rim fit and it's improved the sound and volume. Incidentally, it was indeed a Crowe ring, although a later model than yours, with the script letters. It weighed 2 lbs, 15.6 oz.
