Hi guys,

I've been looking for some software that will assist with learning the Banjo. I've looked at Fretter and Chord! on Android, and a couple programs on the web and windows. I'm still looking around.

Have any of you seen or used some software to aid in learning? Something that shows finger positions on the fret board and musical notation?

Toppy says: 7/1/2011 3:18:48 AM I agree I have tabledit and found that it is very good and has helped me heaps with my playing and yes you can also slow down your playing but you can progressively speed it up also so you can pick up speed
JimBobRascal says: 7/4/2011 6:05:01 PM Which OS are you using? You made a comment earlier about GIMP. Are you using GNU/Linux? If you are, I've had issues with tef files. I can't get tefview to run in Wine. I've been toying with the idea of reverse engineering the format of the file. I've poked through the file and it's not encrypted or anything silly. It shouldn't be impossible to convert it to another format. I should probably just bite the bullet, buy a copy of Windows and run it in a VM, but it seems overkill for free tab files. :/ "Cleartune" on Android is always helpful. Also "Mobile Metronome" for android.
