Marc, thanks for this group. What a great idea. I really love the photo/avatar. Who are those guys? Over the last six months or so I have been really getting into a lot of piedmont blues, and appalachian blues from the 20's and 30's. Also a lot of songster and stringband stuff from the same era and regions. Some of the things I'm really enjoying right now include Charlie Poole, Uncle Dave Macon and, The Georgia Yellow Hammers. Much of the stuff these guys played was up-picked, which I'm really terrible at, so I have been trying to adapt a lot of their songs to clawhammer with varying degrees of success, but its a ton of fun, regardless.
