I just pulled the trigger yesterday, and ordered a Danny Barnes model woody.
I currently play a Stelling Staghorn and love it. But I'm also looking for something that I could consider on a different end of the tone spectrum. I thought that a woody would fit the bill nicely. It'll be lighter (those Stellings are HEAVY), has a .75# shorter scale (I'm not sure that will make any difference in playability), and I'm having it built with a radiused fingerboard.
I'm taking a large leap of faith here. I've played a couple of Bishlines in the past, and thought that they were great banjos. But I'm buying this one sight unseen, and have never played a Danny Barnes model. As I said, a HUGE leap of faith.
Now for the waiting. I expect delivery in early September.
Chris
