Has anyone else noticed that they sound better as they age? I bought a 2008 Reiter Round Peak new. Near the end of 2010 there was a noticeable increase in the resonance and fullness of the sound.

	jbalch says: 2/12/2011 5:34:36 AM That must explain whay I like my 1993 and 1994 Reiter banjos so much.... It took me a couple of years to really "dial in" the sound on my 2006 Galax-plus. It sounded great to me...right out of the box. But in the first couple of years, I made several set-up changes. I don't know if age had as much impact as anything else. But after a while, that banjo has become my favorite.

kevinwholmes says: 2/12/2011 6:31:13 AM BTW, it definitely IS true that violins and mandolins sound better when they're played frequently (I know this first-hand), which is not necessarily related to aging, so the same could be true with banjos; I haven't noticed it with my Reiter. It could be happening, but the process may be too slow for me to notice.
