Hi gang,

I've been a Bart Reiter Galax owner since Thursday. It showed up at the music store where I teach in pristine condition and a price too low to let pass. I'd been eyeing Reiter banjos for years, but never had funds at the right time. It's almost a twin to my Vega Electric, but has a bigger bark. I'm having big fun.

Thanks for sharing all of the useful information on string guages, etc.

I find that I pick up my Reiter often..in fact I just leave it on the porch chair..It's a Player; it feels good, and sounds good. I'll be using it at my next gig.

I'm thinking about a slightly higher bridge, and I need to address a small problem with the 1st string popping out of its bridge slot. I suspect the previous owner installed heavier strings than were original.
