BHO Friends,
Good evening Bart Reiter Group. I took a Bart Reiter Tubaphone in trade a few weeks ago, and just got around to restringing it yesterday. I’ve never had a tubaphone, and those I played were a bit louder and brasher than my preference, but this transaction was a compelling one and I gladly went for the deal. It is a nice banjo, circa 1998 (I’ve got to verify that with Bart).
The head is a simple Renaissance look-alike, unbranded. I have it stuffed under the bridge – still experimenting with stuffing. Medium gauge Martin/Earl Scruggs steel strings. A bridge built by Jason Burns, 5/8th inches in height. That’s about the setup so far.
Need to know whether this example of me noodling around with the banjo is producing a credible sound, or one that needs real improvement, different setup, etc.

Here's the video posted to BHO "media archive"; I couldn't link this youtube video into this message:

I’d be grateful for any setup recommendations you all might care to make.
I’d accept any and all recommendations, from changing the string gauge to playing the thing underwater from now on.
Thanks, and have a fine weekend.
Lew
