It's kind of a tough sell when asking more than a new one costs.

Other than the peghead how does the Buckbee differ from a standard? Rick

Thinner, cheaper rim (1/2" wall), less lacquer sanding (saves time), cheaper tailpiece and shoe screws

Thanks Bart....also, thanks for not being available to add inlay to my bacophone....after thinking about it for a while....I don't want to change it....it's perfect the way it is...I'm glad I didn't rush into it....Rick

If you add inlay, do it in the scooped fingerboard area like an Ome banjo. There is plenty of room for just about anything and you do not have to mess with frets or finish!

That Reiter Buckbee is listed here on BHO for $1000 or trade. Ebay listing was more due to fees.

I only sell new banjos to my dealers. I only sell a few used banjos on Ebay, nothing as new. You listed this as a new banjo? I was trying to be polite and respectful and make a reality check.

Yes, Bart. I listed this as a "new" banjo because it is. Clearly I am not a retail dealer, so "new" is simply an illustration of the exact condition the banjo is in. This was stated in the ebay listing and the BHO listing. Where do you get used banjos and who uses them? The banjo I am selling is new in every respect. Possibly an anomaly but without knowing how someone who makes new banjos has so many "used" ones to sell on ebay (15 in the last year, all with new cases) it seems that they are listed as "used" so as not to upset the "new" dealers.

But if you bought it on Ebay it was listed as "used" on my original listing. New has a warranty, used does not. It is a truth in advertising difference. It does not matter, the buyer got a good deal just as you did.

Agreed but it's still a "new" banjo. Just one without a warranty which is clear in my listing. Listing it as used doesn't make it used. For that to be true it would have to have been played by someone and it hasn't yet. I'd say my advertisement has as much truth in it as any so far concerning this particular banjo. It was and continues to be a great deal.

I was under the impression that this banjo had the same hardware as your other banjos. when did you switch to the "cheaper tailpiece and shoe screws"?
