What does that mean? A Buckbee model?

peghead like old Buckbee made banjos...(such as dobson)...Buckbee manufactured banjos in the late nineteenth and early 20th cent.
otherwise just like a standard i guess...

pretty ugly peghead...he didn't tapper so it looks wider at the to

Neck is cherry wood - That is new.

Looks like a lot of banjo for under $1k.

The ebay description reveals it has a 1/2" thick 2-ply rim with rolled brass tone ring. Like the "Standard model.

I also notice that the dowel stick is simply stamped "Reiter" rather than bearing the usual metal name plate.

It reminds me of the old "JHB" mark on some of the original Buckbee banjos - appropriate for this model I think.

It's not my favorite look for a peghead, but I agree it is a lot of banjo for under a thousand new. There's a lot of room for a clip on tuner, but it probably wouldn't fit in a bump case.

I really like it but I'm partial to simple pegheads. Like the cherry and the rim cap. Wish he shortened the scale a tad. It's got me thinkin though....
