Hello John,

I installed the skin head (really nice one too!).I did have to dampen it. everything is stabilized, got the minstrel strings in tune and I love the head! big improvement!

Thanks for everything, beautiful head quick, delivery and clear instructions and follow up.

	10outlander says: 6/22/2012 3:13:17 AM Dumb question, but why did you have to dampen it? Do you refer to dampen it as in moisten it or as in mute it?
	jbalch says: 6/22/2012 4:22:19 AM That particular hide was a little extra thick. I recommended that he might need to dampen (moisten) it a little to seat it on the rim properly. It should make a sturdy and great sounding fine head. With the medium-thickness goat hides I use, it is normally not necessary to do that - in fact I usually recommend against it.
