I completed the set-up and am very pleased with the results. Here is what I did to this old banjo:
1. installed a Bill Rickard Dobson tone ring & 1/4" brass hoop to replace the original 3/8" tone hoop.
2. Jeff Menzies un-bleached goat hide head.
3. Gary Sosebee (old bowling ball rack) bridge.
4. New Prucha Presto tailpiece

Last night was stormy in Tennessee. The humidity rose more than 15% in a few hours giving this new hide head a really tubby sound. I decided to record a few quick tunes while it sounded that way.
