That's the Reiter that's been passed around a few times for $1000 here on the hangout. I recognize it from the marks on the back of the IR.

Are you talking about my Professional? The IR is flawless. Not even a dimple. Please clarify.

I think your banjo has some distinctive figure to the maple wood on the back of the IR. That may make it recognizeable.

There was a banjo like yours that was traded around here a few months ago for a price in the range that RW mentions. I though it was a crazy price at the time. But it goes to show that the demand for these banjos has been unpredictable. I'm sure that is why Bart dropped them from his regular production line several years ago. The street price was about $1200 when he still regularly produced the model. Now that they are no longer made at all ...who knows what the market will bear?

Good luck with the sale!

Thanks John. If he had said "markings" instead of marks, I would not have responded. I do find it odd that he would make such a statement about price, knowing it would potentially hurt the sale. At the listed price I would not make a penny. It does leave a bit of a bad taste in my mouth about what I thought was a brother(sister)hood of musicians and enthusiasts. Having been in the music business for nearly 37 years it is hard to surprise me. I did, however, find this a bit mean spirited and not in the Christmas (Christian) spirit, as I know it. I will explore other ways to advertise this instrument, or perhaps just keep it. I guess one can't have to many banjos. I value your opinion and appreciate your promotion (and making) of such great music. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Sorry my comments offended you I meant nothing mean by them. I just recognized the instrument is all. My apologies if you were offended.

Isn't this the one with those "markings" ???

I also would like to "clarify" the that tuner buttons are exactly the same. Those "markings" don't look like figured wood patterns to me, that's why I said marks.
