Hello

I am new to this group. I got my first Bart Reiter banjo a few weeks ago - and I love it. It's a second-hand Galax model and I would like to know, whether I have mounted the compensated bridge correctly. Is this the original bridge?

	jbalch says: 4/18/2011 3:43:29 PM Caspar: Welcome and congratulations on the banjo. I think your bridge might do a better job if you reversed it. That type bridge would not be original to the banjo. Bart does not supply compensated bridges. His OEM bridges are straignt and not marked. They are maple with an ebony top. I usually change bridges on my banjos anyway. On My Reiter banjos, I have bridges from Gary Sosebee. I like the way they sound. Best Wishes!

	jbalch says: 4/18/2011 5:37:47 PM Check out the photo I just linked. It compares four bridges. the one circled in red is the best compensated bridge I have found. It is made by Arthur Hatfield in Kentucky. See how he moves the 2nd string forward ... and the 3rd string back. That seems to cure most intonation issies I've come across. Maybe this will be a useful comparison for you.
