Just curious if anyone else has an early Reiter banjo. Last fall, I traded a recent 12" Reiter Dobson style for an early make 11" with a simple brass tone ring. The S/N is 219 so its from 1987 (as such, its my only birth year instrument, to boot).
I'll post pictures if I can figure out how to, but its been through the ringer. A local guy who I admire greatly made the trade with me and I'm extremely happy with it. While I greatly enjoyed the sound of the 12" rim, it was a little larger than I wanted. After slapping one of John's hide heads on here and a re-fret, this thing is just killer.
At any rate, just curious. Thanks to all!
