I really want this banjo...I really miss my Galax, and I have been longing for a Professional for some time...this is a great price, but i just can't swing it...especially because I'd have to drive to pick it up and the distance is too far...but if some one on here winds up with it i'd be happy...excellent chance to get a hard to find banjo!!!

jbalch says: 3/12/2011 6:27:28 AM Nice looking banjo for a great period (early 1990s). I like those with two f-holes. My Reiter IR banjos are from 1993 and 1994...some of Bart's best IMHO.

jbalch says: 3/17/2011 12:19:56 PM Personally, I can't tell much (if any) difference in sound. I just like the look of the banjos with fewer f-holes. One bit of trivia: From what I understand, Bart used to cut the f-holes by hand. So early IR banjos were standard with two f-holes. If you wanted more, I think there was an upcharge. However, at some point in the early 1990s (I think), Bart set up a fixture or some type of tooling that made the job easier. Once that was in place, the standard became for all banjos to have eight.
