let me introduce myself- collecting serial numbers since 1971- I gave all to Polle who passed away. I am still collecting and would share , but need also new inputs.

I am also searching for an early Montana plectrum with abalone inlay , round flange and inside hikes tone ring- thank you for your help

	nikonguy52 says: 6/10/2024 10:13:27 AM I have a B&D Serenader Silver Bell with no serial number but parts like an Oettinger tailpiece. Any ideas about date? (after 1938 but before WWII?)

jcrouch33 says: 1/16/2025 10:51:16 AM I have a B&D silver belle tenor banjo. Serial # 15431 making it a 1925 model. It also has M 2 on the neck dowel making it, I believe, a model 2. It is all brass metal work, and the neck is carved on the back. It has a mute bar, but it says patented 1931. I am assuming it was changed out at some point. It is in very good condition other than some crackling in the finish. Other than the mute bar and bridge I believe it to be original. My questions: Many of the posts I have read indicate their banjo has a model name I.e. Montana. If mine has one, how would I know? Given my description, what might be a value range for this instrument. I don’t play it, but enjoy it as wall art. I am, though, thinking of buying another 5 string and could use the money. Thanks, John
