Could anyone tell me anything about this banjo.
Any idea what it is worth?
I can't seem to find any iron clad info on it, or anyone who has owned one.
I was told that a lot of these banjos were bought up buy Japanese investors in the 1980's.
s/n is 4036
I 've been told that it is a blue grass instrument with more bass than tenor sound.
This Serenader is a 5-string banjo with 22 frets and the drone string 2/3 the way up the neck. It is a resonator 5-string a was I been told it is most often played in Bluegrass banjo style with three fingers and finger picks. Also, that 5-string banjos are tuned lower than tenor banjos and have have a more bass tone to them. This banjo has a bit of an archtop and has a little brighter sound.
Please info i can get will be deeply appreciated.
