Considering the name of this group, I have to say this is really the least enthusiastic group of which I'm a member here at BHO. Somebody give a shout out! Any of you from Tucson? Sean

	Uncle Brad says: 1/9/2018 7:24:55 PM I just joined the Desert Bluegrass Association today. I see they sponsor jams, workshops, and free "clinics" at the Chicago Music Store. I'm planning to come out to a few of these events in the hopes of improving and expanding my skills. I see they held a mandolin clinic last November for beginners. I think it would be interesting to experience an introduction to that and other instruments as well.
	BDCA says: 1/9/2018 8:19:35 PM Our Old Time Jam in Tucson last night had around 25 musicians including 5 or 6 banjos. Sean, I'd say that's pretty enthusiastic. In addition I'm one of the organizers of this event: irisholdtime.com and a bunch of folks from Tucson are going. In early April we have the South West Old Time Gathering in Tucson..also pretty enthusiastic crowd...no shortage of enthusiasm here... We tend to play music, not write about it. Bob

Just sayin', you might've had 6 or 7 banjos there--if you took the time to write about. not the music, but the activities (first I've heard of them, and I've lived in Tucson since 2001). I was at Dan's Old Time Gathering last year, all three days, and it was a hoot. If it weren't for Dan promoting it (writing about it?) here on the Hangout, I wouldn't have know about that either. 	BDCA says: 1/10/2018 8:29:54 AM Sorry Sean, Didn't mean to be snarky. OT Jam with Dan is 2nd and 4th Mondays at the Lucky Strike Bowling Alley (Bowling for Banjos) on Speedway, 7-9. We get a lot of snow birds in the winter but the jam's been going for 3 years non stop. I used to tour with Roger Sprung when I was a kid and would step in on Bass when asked. I bought and Electronic Upright for Christmas and all Electric instruments are verboten at the OT Jam. I'm hoping to get back up to speed and bluegrass jams should be great practice. Unlike clawhammer, OT bass isn't rocket science...
