Not all new members are scammers, of course! But scammers are impatient and typically join and post ads within a few days. Members are advised to be extra cautious when dealing with new members.
Sensible precautions may include talking to the seller on the phone, requesting additional item photos, meeting in person if possible, and using an escrow service like escrow.com.
Before sending any money, be sure to take one last look at the member's homepage, too, to make sure their account hasn't been locked. Once a scammer is found out we lock their account. Never deal with a member whose account is locked!
