Chuck Lee banjos are perfect. However, made one at a time, even within a standard model category, each is a little different. This 11" Marble Falls, serial #406 (~2008), has 14 hooks, a 3 1/4" rim, and a 25 5/8" scale. There is a Bill Rickard tubaphone tone ring and a heavy bracket band. The tone ring-bracket band combination was David Day's original Vega Tu-ba-phone design, and the bracket band helps give it the punch and clarity for which tubaphones are prized. The tuners are the original 4:1 geared Pegheds.
Included is a vintage-style wire arm rest and the original bump, hard-shell case.
The hardware and finish have age-appropriate patina, but there are no cosmetic or structural, playing-relevant issues to keep the condition from being Excellent.
My playing wouldn't impress anyone, but Craig Evans was selling one of his two Marble Falls banjos a few years ago. They were of the same vintage as this one, similarly dimensioned and appointed. His demo video is at vimeo.com/58656503, and the same one is also at youtube.com/watch?v=0jPLIpOjk3k .
