Just a nice slightly used 5 Star Ludwig head that I personally removed from a banjo; top frosted with some light play wear/staining and very slight pencil marks near bridge; no rust; crown measures 11/32", so it's low crown.
The mild staining on this head would likely be removed with a clean, new white bar style pencil eraser and/or a Mr. Clean wonder cleaner sponge thingy. It's pretty nice as is for a used head.
From Remo's Website: "The Collar or 'Crown' height is measured top of the flesh-hoop (aluminum hoop of the head) to top of the playing surface of the head. Standard heights are: low-3/8", medium-7/16", high-1/2"."
I measured the crown with a straight edge across the head for the upper measurement of a square placed on the flesh hoop, but since this was measured off a banjo and is used, there will likely be some +/- tolerance from measurement.
Please see the pictures. The spot about 2 o'clock from dead center to half way to edge of each picture...the round gray spot...is on my camera lens, not the head....time to cleany lensy....sorry about that.
