The lot of all 3 heads for $50 + shipping (USA sales only).
Ludwig made heads marked 5 Star (Stew Mac), marked Ludwig, and unmarked. They are the same heads from the same maker and have been discontinued.
All of these are 11" diameter (for 11" pots). All of these heads appear structurally sound and were fine when I removed them from the banjos they were on, but are used with use and storage wear/dust and minor surface rust on the flesh hoops, mostly on the surface covered by the tension hoop when on a banjo (the Ludwig crimped bead flesh hoops are steel, not Aluminum like Remo's).
From Remo's Website: "The Collar or 'Crown' height is measured top of the flesh-hoop (aluminum hoop of the head) to top of the playing surface of the head. Standard heights are: low-3/8", medium-7/16", high-1/2"."
I measured the crowns with a straight edge across the head for the upper measurement of a square placed on the flesh hoop, but since these were measured off a banjo and are used, there will likely be some +/- tolerance from measurement.
Head #1-Marked with the 5 Star Logo; noticeable wear/impressions/scratches around armrest, bridge, and string path areas; some creases and dings but no punctures; crown height measures 15/32" (that's 1/32" less than 1/2"), having been on a banjo before I'd consider this a high crown
Head #2-Same basic description as #1 above, but in better condition and has some small dirt spots that likely would wash off; crown height measures 11/32" (that's 1/32" less than 3/8"); having been on a banjo before I'd consider this a low crown
Head #3-Unmarked but this is a Ludwig made head exactly like the 5 Stars; this one is in the best condition of the 3 with minor wear; has the remnant impression of having been on a raised head banjo; crown measures 3/8" so it's low crown
