This is a side project that turned out fantastic. Having long heard about affordable quality of the newer Gold Stars, I bought one with the intention of tweaking it into a monster with a few upgrades. Those upgrades include a new AMB "Max" head by Remo, new Gotoh tuners, and a new Sullivan factory floor bridge. I've also sanded the back of the neck down to a smooth matte finish, not quite a 'speed neck' as the wood stain remains and it's much less obvious. This banjo is incredible in both playability and sound. Has some minor cracking in the finish near the bottom of the resonator (please reference the photos), but only goes through the clearcoat. This was present when I purchased the banjo. I'd prefer not to ship this overseas and keep it limited to the lower 48 and Canada, if possible. Asking 1150.00 obo.
Specs: Mahogany neck and resonator, ebony fingerboard. Stock Gold Star resonator, rim, metal, neck, and tone ring.
*Bonus* This banjo will come with a BlueChip "R" thumbpick, with a slightly thicker blade.
