This is a really nicely done RB-75 style banjo neck. I was told it was made by Rual Yarborough but if anyone can give me confirmation for or against that info, I’d much appreciate it.
It’s mahogany with a rosewood fretboard and an ebony peg head overlay. Fret wear is almost nonexistent. There’s some chips in the finish on the back of the peghead. On the peghead’s face, there is a mark that looks like a piece of masking tape was left on a little too long.
The biggest issue with this neck is that it is twisted. I’ve never had this installed on a rim so I can’t say if it’s completely detrimental to the functionality, but sighting down the neck, the bass side looks lower than the treble until roughly the 10th fret. I have attempted to capture this in photos but it’s certainly easier to discern in person.
No less, this is a sharp looking neck and if you don’t mind the gamble or the potential project, it’s a neat piece.
Thanks for looking and feel free to reach out with any questions.
