This bar was original equipment in a 1936 Gibson L00 guitar case that I just got it still has the original box,though it’s missing one end.
I’m told this “slide option” was offered in the 30s,I suppose Gibson was trying anything they could to sell an instrument during the depression. It really wasn’t a good idea because it eventually tore the guitar up pretty badly.
Surely there’s a dobro player out there that collects such trophies?
