Beautiful, Very good condition RC Allen 22 fret Plectrum 4 string banjo. Straight neck. Custom cowboy headstock inlay. Looks like solid curly walnut resonator. Sounds great. No appreciable fretwear. Looks mostly unplayed. Will ship insured for free with full price or close to full price sale.
This is a heavy, professionally built USA materials, USA made, vintage instrument. This would cost $2-$3,000 to have built today.
RC Allen was longtime Southern California luthier. Contemporary of Dopyera (Dobro) and Bigbsy (Well... Bigsby!). After his death RC Allen was featured in Fretboard Journal #33. You can see a few of his later guitars on Reverb site listed for $2-$3k. Plenty of info online about this legendary luthier.
