Old time banjo 1316-4
There were missing hardware, very thin tension hoop, and some nickel plating remains.
I cleaned and restore the brass spun and hard maple wood rim and added a rolled brass tone ring.
Finished the wood rim with tru-oil and hand polished it.
Made a new tension hoop and installed Old time reproduction brass bracket shoes and tension nuts from Bill Rickard.
I mounted a goatskin from Menzies Instruments.
Hand made once piece black walnut wood neck ( 5 years air dry in my shop). Adjustable truss rod,
AAA category ebony fingerboard with a light radius and 1 3/8 inch wide at the bone nut.
Custom made radius bridge made out of maple wood from a century old banjo rim. Ebony wood for tip.
No Knot raw brass tailpiece.
Aged brass wire armrest.
Set up with nylgut strings and a 5/8 inch bridge.
Boulder Alpine Gig Bag included. For a hardshell case please enquire.
Plated Second Life Banjo N. 1316-4 and ready for another century of music.
