An absolute masterpiece, by noted banjo craftsman Robin Smith. Features Dannick no-hole ring #357 and a Dannick rim. The mahogany is old growth, with a figured resonator that is stunning.
The Flying Eagle inlay is called the "original design", on Robin Smith's work order. The cut of the inlay is more delicate and intricate than is normally seen on the Flying Eagle.
Other features: rosewood fingerboard, spikes at 7,9,10; Waverly two-band tuners with grained ivory buttons; moderate fret wear with plenty of life left.
The profile of Robin Smith's five string necks is unmatched. This one is hard to put down. Much has been said and written about the Dannick tone ring and this one lives up to the headlines.
All of the documentation from Robin Smith/Heartland Guitar and Banjo is included with this banjo. The Guardian hardshell case is in excellent condition.
