GIBSON RB-3 WREATH FOR SALE. (would also consider a TRADE for a RICKARD RESOPHONIC BANJO)
Serial number 3-9702-11 is engraved into the rim and chalked on the resonator. This makes it a February, 1997 instrument, I think. Not officially "Greg Rich Era" but almost.
Excellent condition. Some tarnish on the metal and the resonator is not as pristine as a mirror, (a few smudges and marks that I can hardly see and photograph) but in extremely good cosmetic condition.
Functionally and structurally perfect so far as I can tell. Sounds great.
Comes with two Keith tuners. Kulesh tone ring, I believe. I was told it was once owned by Bill Emerson.
Comes with Gibson hardshell. Case is in good condition, but the combo lock does not work.
I bought it a couple years ago from Turtle Hill Banjo and haven't played it much. An advertisement from Janet Davis Music was in the case with a sale price listed. (see pictures) I have assumed that the advertisement and sale price related to this specific instrument, but I am not sure as the ad does not specify a serial number.
2019 Vintage Guitar Guide lists its value range as $3,000-$3,900.
There is no 'Mastertone" label on the rim but in response to a post here on BHO, the absence of a Mastertone label was not unheard of, particularly during certain years. Here is my post and BHO members' responses:

I also posed the question to Gruhn Guitars and Joe Spann of Gruhn Guitars told me this about the absence of the label:
"My name is Joe Spann and I coordinate the appraisal functions for George Gruhn here at Gruhn Guitars in Nashville. We received your recent email with questions concerning your 1997 Gibson RB-3 banjo.
The lack of a Gibson Mastertone Guarantee label on the interior of the rim is not common, but has been seen by us on numerous occasions."
