This banjo is certainly outside my wheelhouse, but here is what I know about it. First of all it is 1 number below Bobby Thompson Baldwin. His SN: was 294. This one is 293. From what research I've done, I think that puts it at about a 1967. It has what looks like a 3 ply rim, or whatever the non-multiple lamination rim that Baldwin used originally. It looks like the tenor version of what Thompson's banjo was. I've read where his was a D model, and some have said it was a transition model. This one has almost flawless non-engraved gold plated hardware. There is not a scratch or ding anywhere that I can find. It comes with it's original, perfect condition, green lined Lifton case. This looks to be an exceptional example of an early Baldwin banjo. If any of you can shed more light on this banjo, I will update my post...Bill
