This is a circa 1930 Gibson Florentine Custom Tenor Banjo.. However the original finger board did not have the scenes of Venice. Renee Karnes did a complete restoration on the banjo, and the finger board now has all the proper Venetian scenes. She also refinished it with the original colors used by Gibson Need I say more. Serial No. 9227 on neck. All metal parts were re-gold plated.
Why custom? Gibson used some "All American" engravings for the armrest and tone ring. The other engraved parts are Florentine. Not sure what Gibson pattern was used for the flange. All the engravings go together very nicely
