I'm selling my 1932 Bacon and Day Special #2 that has been converted to a 5 string. The custom neck was made by Henry Volk out of Brookville, Indiana. I believe it was the last custom neck he made before he retired from luthiery. Hank used the peghead overlay from the original neck to make the conversion neck. He also used the original pancake tuners. The resonator is in it's original condition and has not been restored. Look at the photos for more details. The neck is straight with minimal fret wear. It does have railroad spikes already installed. This banjo has the brass hoop as the tone ring in it so it is a bit lighter than a traditional bluegrass banjo. This might make it ideal for a player with back issues or someone simply wanting a quality, American made banjo that weighs a bit less.

The banjo comes with a brand new padded Deering gig bag. Please check out the photos and by all means ask any questions. I'd like to sell this, but would consider trading it for a banjo of comparable value.
