This banjo is build with a very nice nickel plated brass on hard maple spunover rim. There was no indication or name on the rim but the quality of the construction remind me of many Dobson banjos.
An 11 inches in diameter Dobson tone ring was fit on top of the spunover rim.
Some plating wear mostly on the tension hoop. The original shoes and shoe bolts are nickel plated brass and in great condition. The tension hooks and the nuts are new.
New black walnut neck with an adjustable truss rod accessible by the neck heel.
Ebony fingerboard and head stock veneer. Fingerboard is 25 1/2 inches scale with 17 silver/nickel frets and a frailing scoop.
Natural goat skin head from Jeff Menzies in Jamaica.
Original no knot Elite tailpiece
New nickel plated brass wire armrest.
Gotoh tuners.
Bone nuts.
Nylgut classic banjo strings.
Weight is 5 1/2 pounds
The banjo is actually set up with a 5/8 inch bridge
Very easy to play with a great old time sound.
