1992 Gibson Earl Scruggs Standard. Wood finish has no outstanding marks, minor checking on the resonator. Metal has some tarnish, but less than many after 24 years.
Frets show little wear. Photo shows the stain on the peg head from a tuner being left there.
Has the factory installed Keith D-Tuners with "Gibson" embossed on the buttons. These tuners were standard on the ESS at this time of production.
Neck profile is slim and very comfortable to play. I've had several ESS banjos and this one stands out in tone, responsiveness, and playability. Just installed new GHS PF-155 strings.
Serial number is 1915 and the signature is unique. Looks more like the writing of an older person than the usual label signature. The tone ring is stamped GIBSON USA.
Original The Gibson case has been replaced by a much better Canadian case. It is a flat top case, like the original, but the covering seems heavier gauge and the case is sturdier.
