This tailpiece is unlike any others I've seen, but it may be common to those who are knowledgeable about the many makers of the early 20th Century.
There are five grooves on the front edge. I cannot say how the strings attached. The hanger bolt and nut are nice and appear original to the tailpiece.
Not sure if this is a useful piece or just an example for a collector.
