I've got too many banjos (is that even possible?). Anyway, I'd like to recoup just a few of the many dollars I've spent buying banjo materials and parts by selling this one. It was designed and built to be as light as I could make it. Therefore, the neck is not reinforced with metal, and the tuners are simple friction tuners. It is suitable only for nylon strings. It has a 24 1/2" scale length. The 10 1/2" pot started life as a hand drum and has a plastic head and metal tensioning hardware. The neck is poplar with a strip of maple for greater strength, and a maple peghead joined with a V-joint. The fretboard is a thin piece of rosewood, and the tailpiece is also rosewood. The inlays are CD material. The strings are nylon monofilament fishing line, with the 3rd and 4th strings twisted from two strands each. I have tried a silver-wound 4th string on this banjo, but the twisted nylon sounds better. The voice of the banjo is soft and sweet. It makes a good practice banjo, beginner banjo, or knockabout banjo for camping. Call, text, or send me a Personal Message for more info.
