It's not too often that you find an Eagle II openback in these classifieds. With a serial number 0024, this is one of the very first, purchased new at Mountain Music in Old Forge in 2011. Railroad spikes were professionally installed at frets 7 and 9, and the banjo has been brought in for an annual check up each year. Bridge and tailpiece are all Deering stock. The only customization has been the installation of an Osborne renaissance head, but this was done by Mr. Worthen prior to purchase. She is beautiful to look at, and has a bright, clear sound with amazing sustain. With the twenty-ten tone ring and three-ply violin grade rim, the Eagle II has its own voice, designed to sound terrific in a variety of styles, including old time, bluegrass and classical banjo. This has been my go-to banjo for the past four years, and she has never disappointed. I am selling only because I recently acquired a Sierra with a resonator for bluegrass playing/performance.
