I'm selling my Deering Goodtime Special banjo. This banjo is in very good condition and needs nothing done to it. Finish is in good condition, neck is straight and the action is low and smooth. This would be a fantastic banjo to learn on as I have the action set so that one can fret very easily. If you want to play it very hard and loud, you can simply put a higher bridge on it. This banjo has the Deering Special tone ring in it, but it is still much lighter than a full bell bronze tone-ring bluegrass banjo, so if you want something a little lighter to haul around, play by the campfire, or to just save your back...this is the jo for you. I'm throwing in a hardshell case I had under the bed. This is a basic yet sturdy case. It does need a new handle.
My price is firm. I'm selling to finance the purchase of a French horn for my wife (so I guess if you have a decent double french horn I'd trade). I'd also consider a trade for an equivalent value tenor banjo, especially one suitable to Irish playing.
