I pulled this ad by mistake about a month ago. The banjo is still available and I have adjusted the price slightly. This is a great banjo.
This is a great banjo that I sold several years ago. This is only 1 of 3 early 100s that I have seen with the double bound resonator. Any of you who know these early post-wars, realize that Gibson used a lot of left over parts from the 30s on them. There is no doubt in my mind that is what happened on this banjo. Because the early double bounds 100s are so rare, I try and leave these pot assemblies as original as I can. This one has had a second coordinating rod added. The neck, I was told originally had been made by Arthur Hatfield. I reprofiled it to my profile specs and refinished it to match this resonator. I do believe that the resonator has been resprayed at sometime in its life. The match turned out good and this banjo is a joy to play. This pot is fitted with a Sloan 20 hole flathead tone ring. I am very pleased with the results and am offering it with a hard case and satisfaction guarantee for $3200...Bill
