Simply a fantastic banjo here with many unique features. As for the appearance I simply love the understated beauty of this banjo. Slotted headstock, star inlaid in the headstock and the fifth fret, antiqued hardware, and a beautiful "S" Frailing Scoop. Also has a Rosewood cap on the rim and heel. Rosewood cap on the back of the rim is not missing now--it has been fixed.

The ash wood and White Layde tone ring are quite a combination and provide plenty of punch. The deeper (4 inch) block rim gives it a nice growl and rounds out the bass.

Depending on setup this banjo has several voices. The Ren head gives it more brightness and the goatskin head gives it more plunk. I'll ship it with whatever head you prefer. I've also had it strung up with nylon in the past and was surprised that I didn't really loose any volume (this is not true with all banjos.) The nylon strings gave a more "refined sound" with less overtones. I wouldn't hesitate to leave this one strung with nylon strings.

Take a look at the videos and you will fall in love with her just like I have. I guarantee that there is not another banjo like it out there for sale. I like the appearance, the sound, the feel, and the craftsmanship. Jeremy Rushing is a great builder and stands behind his work 100%. This was the 14th banjo that Jeremy built and he kept it for his main banjo for a while. I think he has made over 20 banjos by now.

I am selling in order to fund other purchases that I will likely regret and will wind up begging to buy this back from you. I know this from experience because I've already bought it back once. Against my better judgment, here she is for sale again.
