Not unheard of but a pretty rare bird here, a “Slingerland 200”, an original five string Slingerland pre war banjo. Exactly like the one that Uncle Dave took to his earliest recording sessions. It is unknown if this is a model number or serial number but I would tend towards model number. Circa 1920s-40s would be my best guess.

10 3/4 inch Birds eye maple rim is 1/2 inch thick with (rosewood?) cap. The three piece maple Neck is 1 and 1/8 inch wide at the nut. Has a heel cap and very tasteful white binding. Inlays are very simple small dots and something a little fancier on the headstock.
All original hardware (except for no-knot tailpiece) including the wire armrest. Friction tuners (original maybe?) work just fine.
Currently set up with a Fiberskyn head and a period Grover Bridge with narrow notches to match the narrow nut.
Action is good—neck is shimmed and has a piece of ebony added to the end of the fingerboard. Does not affect tone or playability. It’s simply there to keep the action nice and low. There is a slight forward bow to the neck but the banjo plays fine.
The sound is very nice and very authentic. Obviously it is best suited for claw hammer, two-fingered, and old-time three fingered styles. No tone ring on this model and it suits it just fine.
No case but will be packed and shipped well.
