Long-time Banjo Hangout members may be interested to know that I won this banjo in one of the Hangout's early raffles, back in 2005! (banjohangout.org/blog/19064) Original setup was done by Janet Davis Music and it has always played and sounded great. I played it fairly regularly for about a year, and have played it very infrequently since then as I have focused on clawhammer and more recently minstrel style banjo. It's a wonderful, professional level bluegrass banjo that deserves to be played instead of sitting in its case most of the time.
This banjo is 100% stock, and in excellent condition. (I expect most people here are familiar with the GF-85, but for history and specs of the reintroduced models, check out Paul Hawthorne's GF-85 page at: hawthorne.fastie.com/asianbanjos/g.htm) There are a few *very* superficial signs of use on the back of the resonator (I really had to go looking to find them; no dings, no glaring scratches.) Slight wear on the armrest. Nothing that one would not expect to see from regular use, and nothing affecting the big bright sound of this instrument.
Price includes the original Superior hard shell case and key, allen wrench, and key for tightening the hooks. There is also a black canvas and leather Levy strap that I am happy to include or remove as you prefer.
