1927 Original Pyramid style 2 banjo in extremely great shape! 8851-34 Serial Number.
This banjo came from Elderly Instruments in Mich and as they told it, the banjo was sent back to Gibson in the mid 1960s for a fingerboard replacement from the owner and all they had at that time were bowtie fingerboards and (does this story sound familiar??) also while it was there they replated all metal parts to chrome plating which was also the plating they had started using on the bowties of that era so you know the rest of the story.
Very good rim with no delamination and resonator is in great shape as well.
